For OCI there should be dual citizenship with Indian passport in countries participating.

NRIs with NRE accounts with less than taxable income who are lodging returns on a regular basis are being harassed by IT- how do you expect NRIs to participate in development and investments in India? Scrutiny once is ok and if every thing is in order - why to do frequently?

One of the major causes of death in India is road accidents. There are several factors that add to this problem including condition of roads, traffic signals etc. one of the other reasons that is often overlooked is the 'road rules awareness' among road users. The dept do transport should create awareness programs about how to conduct yourself when you are on any road. Ads should be broadcast on TV about road safety. School and college students need to the main target audience. Ignorance kills.

This is my suggestion for the OCI/PIO process. For NRIs that submit their OCI/PIO at the same time (or within a stipulated period of time) while surrendering their Indian passport upon obtaining citizenship of other country (my specific reference is Australia), the OCI/PIO should be issued across the counter at the embassy. Why should an NRI wait for 2-3 months to get their OCI/PIO card when they had a valid passport just minutes ago prior to submission ? This would be really helpful.

I would suggest that all embassy/consulate may send email/mail to the diaspora in their jurisdiction to acknowledge that our govt is in the region to take care i their needs

If election commission allows proxy or internet voting for expatriates there is possibility for 'buy vote'.I suggest voting supervision under embassy only.
