i think sustainable development is not new approach in bharat, but now a days govt concentrate only on development development and development.... before move a step towards development we have to think about environment. allow only those industries machinery which have powerful waste management system and strictly follow all environmental act.

Along with the infrastructure development it is important to have greenery around your area. This helps in balancing the environment & development. 1.Large trees around your house ensures proper supply of rich oxygen beneficial to your health. 2. It provides shelter for birds and helps butterflies to pollinate . 3.It helps in preventing soil erosion & helps in maintaining the ground water level.Hence my suggestion would be to replace cement by natural soil. 2 trees for each house for greenery.

I fully agree with D L regarding the usefulness of cycling for a green India. The planners have to provide a lane for cycles - both ways - in all smart cities.

Use of plastic waste in resurfacing of city roads;Successful experiments have been done in some cities of the south like Bangalore where plastic waste has been usefully utilized for resurfacing of city roads for smooth ride and long life of the roads. This successful experiment can be easily replicated by major municipal corporations.

All the 100 smart cities should have public cycle sharing systems. All big cities in the world have them, even some poor countries. But we don't have even one. It is an irony when people go to the gym to exercise but use a vehicle to go there. Citizens should be encouraged to cycle to work. Every office should have facilities to change and shower so that cyclists don't face problems. Every road should have a lane reserved for only cycles, which will help cyclists and discourage vehicles.
