Big changes come from small core efforts. Is it possible for all government institutions to shift to Banana Leaves as plates for meals(wherever served). Its even possible to put the leaf on a plate for support. It will help save water for cleaning and serves as a biodegradable alternate to plastic. Furthermore, these leaves can be then sent to the cows as its a perfect meal for them.

Hi, Along with present movements such as clean ganga, swach Bharat please start another movement for creating awareness on RAIN WATER HARVESTING, WATER PITS (for residential & commercial buildings), check dams for Rural places etc., It is really really important for future generations considering the water scarcity, we are facing now in India.

Socio-economic development is for sure needed in the 21st century but not as much at the cost of destroying or degrading the environment. We must balance the development and consider the environmental issues at hand as well. Therefore, whenever we develop something, a thorough and strict EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) should be taken place. If we do that, we can save the environment, save the biodiversity, etc. and development would occur in the frame where the environment is not harmed.
