Easier said than done, but this balancing is not going to be an easy task. Usually one suffers. Should development take place at the cost of environmental degradation or displacement of people? Whose development? It is important that these issues are addressed. Eg. We need power. But setting up a dam to generate power would destroy the flora and fauna and result in displacement of people and the source of their livelihood. Is there an alternative? All for creative and inclusive development.

The present day need is to save the environment by restricting use ( if not by total replacement) of fossil oils by bio diesel. Enough work has been done during the NDA regime ( 1999-2004) through a policy decision, which however, was not implemented by succeeding Govt. The immediate need is to revive this policy and develop this alternative to fossil oils on a National Scale. This will help develop rural based socio - economic activity for National benefit and a Global cause.

There are so many government land which are lying vacant. Why are we not planting trees and managing them properly and making them beautiful. Also when we build new cities there has to be multiple green lung spaces. Else they will become like our existing cities with no large lung spaces at all

Have a proper plan for planting more trees (one more tree per one Indian Project means 125 crore trees in next 5 years), produce more solar power, stop digging bore wells (no more bore wells please), link all possible rivers etc would balance development and environment.
