INDIA WHAT !!! a Diabetes CAPITAL OF WORLD???. Effective excercises coupled with physical defense capability MUST START AT EARLY AGE in schools itself. INDIA'S ETHOS of not to fight is resulting in physically weak body structures and passive generations. CHILDREN love to take part in judo karate etc. Inculcate interest thru similar adapted courses into PT periods thrice a week. This will build habit in child and make him confident of himself to face all future eventialities and avoid diseases.

Dear Sir, Please bring all the private schools under Govt scanner, let the school fees be affordable to common & poor man. Education/schools should be seen as luxury/ status symbol. Its a necessity of life. Exorbitant fees which schools charge dose not Justify the knowledge quality. We belong to a Nation which pioneered education system. Please stop privatization of schools, Most important the high profile tuition classes who charge more than down payment for buying a 2 BKH flat.

All the schools in India have a framework of have a zero period or extra period than scheduled classes for special occasions. Why can't we have this kind of zero period everyday(or twice or thrice in a week) just to develop skills in children. This skill development period could cover vast area like PE, arts&crafts, music, science, etc and let the pupil choose area of their interest.

Sir, years ago schooling was less exam result oriented, not the vain competition in present times. There was time for sports & arts. Extra & co-curricular activities like debate & drama clubs, cookery & needle work classes, painting & music classes, quiz club were all part of school life. Scouts, guides & NCC were also encouraged for physical fitness, discipline & team work. Lectures by senior staff or a special invitee on moral values were routine. Maybe it is time to rethink on these lines.

go into the ancient gurukul system when at 25 years of age after brahmacharya ashram, a person was well equipped for his livelihood and fully competent to face the world in all aspects. just 200 years back there was no concept of 'mad race for sarkari naukri' or the army of un-employed graduates which present lord macaulay established education system is producing. every indian was a born entrepreneur with no dependance on any state support for his livelihood. time to revert to gurukul system

To include arts in classes, the existing institutes which are doing free services to the students by teaching art could be used.In TN,Coimbatore, Kasthuri Sreenivasan Trust which was established by Padmabhushan K.Sreenivasan(Late) arranges painting classes yearly to the students who nominates to come to their art gallery on pongal holidays. They afford the cost of teachers.Such non profit trusts could be used to teach art to students.Their site is: http://www.kasthurisreenivasanartgallery.com/
