I am a Music teacher of the same school from where I studied too. 13 years of schooling and another year of teaching has made me a proud person and a citizen. Our school ST FRANCIS' CONVENT INTER COLLEGE in JHANSI has not only banned the use of polybags but also treat the dried leaves in the form of manure by storing them in large pits and it has been doing this since last 102 years and still continue to do. If waste can be managed in such a way then even waste would be a blessing :) JAIH >

Unicef.org survey among school children in India revealed that about half of the ailments found are related to unsanitary conditions and lack of personal hygiene. Such survey results show the need for a focus on children. Also, it is generally recognized that childhood is the best time for children to learn hygiene behaviours. Children are future parents they have important roles in the household, taking care of brothers and sisters, see report: http://www.unicef.org/wash/files/Sch_e.pdf
