People travelling on buses throw out the garbage on the highways like plastic plates, fruit peels etc. I suggest that all buses should have garbage bins for the use of travelling public. The bus staff should discourage passengers to discard waste on the road and use these bins instead. These in turn can be cleared when ever the bus stops at various depots.

The segregation of domestic waste has been classified as recyclable, metallic, biodegradable and so on. I feel that the common people may not really understand this. I suggest that the waste be classified into two - plastic and non plastic. After all it is plastic the causes most pollution. It should be banned from disposal by households and stiff penalties imposed.

Please ensure that the school curriculum includes lessons on personal hygiene and community hygiene not just in theory but also in practice. Teach children how to use toilets. The problem in India is not just insufficient number of toilets, but unhygienic public toilets. The good old Indian commode in most toilets has been replaced by the western commode which is suitable only for dry toilets & it consumes more water in flushing. Such stinking toilets in public places is discouraging its use.
