The round 1 of the smart city challenge the city of Ghaziabad was positioned as a counter magnet to Delhi, it was proposed to create a diverse economy which provides family supporting jobs, employment for youth and positive environment for business. Ghaziabad has now been given the opportunity to submit its updated proposal for Smart City under Round-2 of the Smart City Challenge. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam invites ideas, suggestions and comments to make Ghaziabad a Smart City.

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) propose to re-engage with citizens and community groups (including prominent citizens, students, women’s groups, industries, NGOs) to understand key pain-points and reassess the aspirations and expectations from a Smart City for revising the proposal for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission.

GMC seeks to obtain feedback on the revised smart solutions for defining the vision, goals, Area-based and Pan City initiatives. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social, economic and institutional infrastructure.
