Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene carry bags/plastic bags/plates/cups and other allied material in Union Territory of Chandigarh. As per NGT directions there is also provision of imposing fine of Rs.5, 000/- "Environmental Compensation" to the erring person/entity per event, along with seizure of such stocks.

With the help of this discussion platform the Administration requests you to 'report the violations' (attach pictures or other details) regarding use of plastic carry bag/plate/cup and allied items on ww.mygov.in. Also, we would like to read your suggestions/ideas as well as practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of plastic (carry bag/cup/plate and allied items) ban in Chandigarh.

It's the need of the day.to make it really work,public awareness should be created,govt must ensure public participation in this campaign.school should educate students regarding ills of poly bags-the pollution they create.we have seen the effect of including students and youngsters in govt campaigns be it clean India or odd-even formula in Delhi.it creates magic and has much appealing effect.govt should utilise this.After all"clean environment is necessary for life".time is to do it now.

All single use plastic packaging /carry bag must be banned .Alternative use of forest & agriculture waste should be promoted to replace plastic .with little jute reinforcement agro-forest waste could be converted in to high class packaging products and durable carry bags. this will help in controlling pollution as well save our forests form fire .

Yes , it must be implemented to reduce plastic generated ill effects.it is necessary to encourage self employed persons in the field of local manufactured products like soil made cups, paper made carry bags and leaves made bowl etc.this would not only reduce soil and water pollution but also encourage ecofriendly business.

we can provide pure water sponsored through advertisement  for free ban on cola still wouldn't work instead we can encourage people to have pure roadside coconut water, sugar cane juice, and other juices which are made of fresh fruits.. use of paper disposables instead of plastic encouraging people to carry a carry bag while starting from their home when they go shopping..

We can but a strict ban on production of factories producing plastic bags and if not followed a hefty fine can be imposed along with imprisonment for a long time. Secondly Ppl having plastic bags at home can return it to the state owned or partially state owned electricity companies or govt owned telephone companies or any of the state owned service provider machinery and get a cash back of 2-5 rupees for every plastic bag returned. Seeing a discount Ppl will return bags and will help govt too.

We have studied about Municipal waste, Hotel, Restaurants, Vegetable Markets, Household, Organic, domestic waste, and other segregated waste which can be useful to produce Biogas(CNG), Fertilizers , and Electricity, Pavment block, kerbstone, Granuals and these product will come in use for local residential and also for people living in village Area. and I request to my gov to support in project that i wish to start from my local place first . I already sent mail to rti-pmo.applications@gov.in.
