Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene carry bags/plastic bags/plates/cups and other allied material in Union Territory of Chandigarh. As per NGT directions there is also provision of imposing fine of Rs.5, 000/- "Environmental Compensation" to the erring person/entity per event, along with seizure of such stocks.

With the help of this discussion platform the Administration requests you to 'report the violations' (attach pictures or other details) regarding use of plastic carry bag/plate/cup and allied items on ww.mygov.in. Also, we would like to read your suggestions/ideas as well as practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of plastic (carry bag/cup/plate and allied items) ban in Chandigarh.

To make any city smart, it is important that its citizens are smart enough to understand that they shouldn't make it dirty. And when one acts in the correct manner, they take them to be too odd rather unsmart.. its important to make the people realise that its their own city, hence should be free from every possible dirt which can litter their city..But few are very lathergic to understand this.. hence strict measure need to be practiced.. Fine of huge amounts can be of great role inthis case..

Dear sir Now a days Polythene bags (MSW) has become a big challenge in our country Theses Municipality waste can be used for gernating power and our country can have self sufficient power.I being an engineer can undertake this work in any of the major city but i dont have funds. if govt helps me financially i can help the country . Same time Lubrication oil which is being used for our transport system we purify this to base oil and can save our environment and exchequer to our country.

With an aim to make Chandigarh pollution-free, the NationalGreen Tribunal (NGT) on Friday announced a fine of Rs 5,000 on anyone found using or dealing with plastic material (bags, cups and plates) in Chandigarh. The tribunal has also slammed the Chandigarh administration and civic authorities for not implementing the ban on the said plastic material.The tribunal stated that it had come to the notice that 370 metric tonnes of garbage was produced daily in Chandigarh and around 100 metric tonnes

मै चाहता हुँ कि हम को इस अभियान मे आगे आना चाहिए हम ऐसे कारीकर्म चलाये जिससे लोग जागरूक हो और हम संकल्प ले कि हम पोलीथीन का प्रयोग नही करेगे मै ने तो लेलिया है और अब हम सब ले

I support a ban on low quality environment unfriendly carry bag. Fines should b imposed both on customer and shopkeeper from 1st january but before that much awareness should be spread across the masses thorough every possible means either from man ki bat or tv ads or newspapers etc. These rules then should be applied strictly. Simultaneously a good option for them should also be provided to public for daily use.

yes i wanna to suggest the government for ban the low level plastic its mean to band chieep quality plactics as well as carry bag or carry polithins .Its not useful for environment .Its difficult for decompose and its harmfully for all in environment . In Place of carry bag paper bag or bamboos product to use for daily uses carry to anything .Its not problematic for environment & many people are involving in small scale industries .To make thola and bamboo Items .It should be useful for emplo.

Its not the solution for pollution to banned plastic bags but we can see as first step towards the cleanness. Government will ban only the low quality and printed bags which are not safe for the environment. Overall ban is difficult for the merchant to give the item like liquid and other soft substances. we can see the packed items are always in the plastic cover then why Indian Govt. should not taking ban on it. The Mnc are giving tax to the govt. and small people can not be able to give that.
