Three strategic components of Area based development in the Smart City mission are:

Retrofitting: This introduces planning in existing built-up area with an objective to make the existing area more efficient and livable. Minimum area of 500 acres would be taken up under this model. For Rourkela best example under this is Main Bazaar Area / Panposh area, etc

Redevelopment: This involves replacement of existing built-up environment and enables co creation of new layouts with enhanced infrastructure using mixed land use and increase density. Minimum area of 50 acres would be taken up under this model. For Rourkela best example under this is Madhusudanpalli / Malgodown area and Pradhan palli area, etc.

Greenfield: This involves introducing most of Smart solutions in a previously vacant area. Using innovative planning, plan financing and plan implementation tools. Minimum area of 500 acres would be taken up under this model. For Rourkela best example under this is Riun Village/ Cheend colony, BPUT area, TISCO quarry siding and Kalinga Vihar area, etc.

Suggestions are invited from citizens of Rourkela/stakeholders/ associations/ NGO/groups to identify the areas to be taken up for area based development under Smart City Proposal.

The last date to submit your suggestions/ comments is 30th November, 2015.

ROURKELA is called as "MINI-INDIA" due to residing of all provenience as well as religious people in Rourkela. but the communication to major city in air as well as Rail is very miserable. Developed air port & more trains with more Platforms in rourkela railway station are required.

A faster,smarter and larger Rourkela must be the key aspect of the project, for this cleaner surroundings, proper solid waste management is a must and 24X7 helpline services and sashakt police forces with faster response must be appointed and with this aspect digitalising is also very important with increasing users, buisness transactions are made easier and socio economic grwoth must be given more weight!

first of all some International level Hospitals. some National and International Institutions. a 24 hours Running Airport,Railway station with 95% national route and best Road and Highways to connect other cities. need best security systems and multi national corporate company with best local housing plans.

Solid Waste Management ,Affordable housing,SEZ,Employment opportunity,Public Transport, and most important an effective grievance cell at all major points in and around Rourkela. Airport and Railway division along with few National level institutes with couple of Medical colleges is must.

Smart city should mainly teach people how to earn more rather than giving them free facilities government should create a platform for people to help them earn and devolope their standard of living. smartcity should contain:- 1)good roads 2)developing harbour 3)developing tourism place 4)solar power plant 5)proper water and cooking gas supply 6)CC camera must be placed everywhere 7)electronic vehicles must be used 8)developing fisheries 9)planting more trees 10)proper facilities for parking.

Development of a national level airport and introduction of more super fast trains, increase in the frequency of the existing trains will go a long way in resolving the above issue. Good Health care facilities for all and education for the underprivileged children. Also Plant to be set up for re-use of Waste/garbage to produce electricity & Huge plantation.

see guys the idea of smart city is not developed city, it means to have a educated environment, educated crowd, educated people, u should be self aware of any situations happening around u, for example if a eve teaser is teasing any girl and people just stand and watch, at that time a smart people will call cops or make a video of those teasers coz confronting them would be bad decision coz we r nt all rambos like that we the citizens should be smart and good in decision making
