The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), in collaboration with MyGov, invites comments and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public on the draft accessibility standards for the Information & Communication Technology Sector. These draft standards, which identify non-negotiable rules, have been prepared to strengthen the creation of barrier-free environments in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and relevant rules.

All interested individuals are requested to carefully examine the proposed standards and submit their feedback, comments, and suggestions on the MyGov platform, ensuring that personal details are entered accurately during registration.

The draft accessibility standards are commendable for aligning with WCAG 2.1, ADA Section 508, and EN 301549, while addressing India-specific needs like regional languages. Presenting a unified document for diverse ICT services ensures clarity and ease of implementation. Mandating ePUB and OCR-based PDFs promotes better access. It is suggested to update references to WCAG 2.2, set clear compliance timelines, and establish a monitoring and grievance mechanism. Capacity-building for implementers and incentives for early adoption should be considered. Ensuring the feedback process itself is accessible in multiple formats and languages would further demonstrate an inclusive, user-centered approach

My suggestion is regarding setting up of special help desk in all Government district hospitals/Medical college, where in all Divyangjan can visit for medical issues as well as for getting artificial devices/ support for their disability and if social justice ministry get associated by appointing a counselor there , Also a LED Display can also be arranged, creating awareness about welfare schemes , dos and donts for Divyangjan , Therefore it will serve as nodal awareness center not only for Divyangjan but for relatives and supporters also. . A nation wide toll free number for the help of all Divyangjan should also be released.

केयर लेस Phunishment लॉ। अगर रेप केस में नाबालिक हो तो उसके फैमिली को सजा दिया जाए आतंकवादी घटनाओं में सामिल होने वाले लड़कों की फैमिली को सजा दी जानी चाहिए Qki किसी की भी मां हो उसे अपने बच्चे की हर एक्टिविटी के बारे में पता होता है कि वह kya pasand karta हैं क्या कर सकता है और उसे क्या चाहिए वो उसकी सोच क्या होगी , वह क्या कर सकता है अगर देखभाल नहीं कर सकते तो टास्क फोर्स को सूचनाएं दे सकते है कि उनका रिलेटिव कुछ गलत एक्टिविटी कर सकता है इसके बदले उन्हें कुछ राहत मिलेगी बेवजह सूचनाएं नहीं देना चाहिए। सजा मिलनी चाहिए

I would like to suggest that all government and private websites, mobile apps, and digital services should be designed in a way that makes them fully usable for Persons with Disabilities such as the visually impaired, hearing impaired, and physically challenged. Specific suggestions: Mandatory screen reader support on all websites Audio description and subtitles for video content High-contrast color schemes for the visually impaired Mobile-friendly and voice-command-supported government portals This would truly make Digital India inclusive for all.
