The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

Sir Swacch Charitable Trust, Hatbazar Rd, Jatni, Odisha got NITI AAYOG Project from Bihar - a muslim social organisation as State Office. Swacch Charitable Trust - President is a murderer. He did crime with another 3 . 5 to another two murder jailed and who are associated they are in jail. Another double murderer from where I do not know. " how to take projects at the time of Bangladeshis drive away from India". President I said - you did not born in Delhi but you born in Jatni, Odisha so first take District Collector project so district administration will watch. President did not hear... I guess - to make himself free from crime and other 3 are accuse.

Introduction (Preamble) Baghpat ke historic temple mein Mahashivratri par lakhon bhole ke bhakt aate hain. Itni badi bheed mein kachra manage karna sabse bada challenge hota hai. Agar hum religious devotion ko environmental responsibility se jod dein, toh is pure mela area ko 100% Zero-Waste Zone banaya ja sakta hai.

Aap festival me plastic bags ki jagah cloth bags use karne ka suggestion de sakte hain. Iske alawa, aap pattal aur done jaise biodegradable bartano ka istemal karne ke liye keh sakte hain. Aur geelay aur sookhay kachray ko alag-alag rakhnay ke liye different dustbin laganay ka bhi idea diya ja sakta hai.

The goal is to make the festival eco-friendly and sustainable while maintaining its religious spirit. Instead of generating tons of plastic, paper, and food waste during the huge gathering, the temple committee wants to reduce, reuse, and recycle everything. *Why "Zero Waste Mahotsav"?* Mahashivratri draws thousands of devotees. Usually this means: 1. Plastic bottles, cups, and plates everywhere 2. Flower/milk offerings ending up in garbage 3. Food waste from bhandara/prasad distribution 4. Flex banners and decoration waste after the event A *Zero Waste* approach keeps the temple and surroundings clean, protects the environment, and sets a spiritual example - because serving nature is also serving Mahadev.
