The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

“Namaste, For better crowd management, proper separation with ropes can be maintained to create multiple crowd-control queues. A pandit can also be appointed to guide devotees in chanting the Panchakshari Mantra, 108 Shiva Naam, Shiv Ashtakam, Nirvana Stuti, and other Shiva bhajans/stotras. This will help devotees spend their waiting time in bhakti and spiritual engagement, so that Shivling darshan is not limited to just a quick visual glimpse. Such arrangements can create a more devotional and disciplined atmosphere, example -Golden Temple and Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

hmare india ka temperature increase continue hota ja rha h or hum agar develop ko dekhte h to hum plant ko cut krte h lekin jab insaan hi nhi rhega to develop kha kaam aayega lekin insaan or development both are important so I have a good idea sir i think we can do something new agar hum ek colony 20 house h per house k according 2 plant lgaye to 20×2 = 40 yani hum har ek colony m ek chota garden rakhe jisme per house k 2 plant lge to 30 crore house h india m 60 crore plant so , temperature 2°C se 8°C tak decrease kr skta h isse development + good health + Bird stay bhi kr skte h that's my idea 💡

There are grinders for the plastic wastes. There are different options on the machines. Then the material can be supplied to different factories. Government is promoting plastic waste management plants. I have been getting the information about different schemes from state as well as central government. Some of startups are in national and international news. There are different sessions seminars and conferences on it.
