MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

Sir, wonderful effort. An enthusiastic, diligent and aware minister who brought forth many thoughts and flagged many issues. Hope to see a pro-active participatory environmental program in the near future. This is a cause that is close to the heart for most and should be for all as climate change is indeed a "clear and present" danger - opportunity for us to give back to mother earth for the many gifts received.

As the minister talked about people based participation, I would like to give example of few state where in Village Level Forest Protection groups not only helped save the village but also helped in restoring the vegetation there. Why not conceptualize something on same lines in cities.

if we have to reduce the pollution in India mainly in North India than our government have to re plan the master plan of connecting India with rivers which was the dream of our honorable Ex Prime minister Respected Mr. Atale Bhihari Vajpai. The main region of climate change can be the recycle of Oxygen because every year the tree are not planted as with speed of they are destroy by lack of water. Because from past few year rain are not proper in north india.

माननीय मंत्री जी जलवायु परिवर्तन विश्व की सबसे बडी समस्या है | उत्तराखंड मे जिस तरह से औधोगिक विकास के नाम पे स्टोन क्रेशरो को बढावा दिया जा रहा है जिसमे पर्यावरण को बचाने के मानको को भी अनदेखा किया जा रहा है जिससे प्रदेश मे वायु प्रदुशन मुख्य समस्या हो गयी है | सबसे बडी चिंता का विषय भारतीय प्रंबधन संस्थान के पास लगे क्रेशर है ,जो स्थान नालेज हब के रूप मे विकसित होना चाहिये वो अवैध खनन का केन्द्र बना हुया है | आपसे विन्रम निवेदन इस मामले मे राज्य सरकार से वार्ता कर मामले की गंभीरता को समझे !!!
