MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

I would like to highlight few following issues which required to stop the practice for the benefit of environment: 1. In Many jungles, people are cutting timber trees for making good amount money which should be stopped immediately. 2. Many people are torching snakes, rabbits, pigs and many others to prepare cosmetics which require to be stopped. 3. Jungles are getting fired for the sake of collection wooden coal which require to stopped. 4. Plantation of trees at road side for greenery.

India should encourage private investment in solar electricity generation and water heating by individual house owners. We should target a solar generating panel and a solar heating panel on the roof of each house. Encouragement by allowing these panels to feed the electric grid, excess energy being bought by the govt. at a fair price, would make private funding available. This would reduce fossil fuel generation and hence global warming. It would also reduce transmission losses, etc..

A Government concerned on Environment should focus on following issues :- 1. Mining of Coal, 2. Ground level implementation of providing Govt subsidies in installation of Alternative sources of Energy, LED for domestic use, street lightning. 3. Strict Laws on Protection of Wildlife. 4. No more tolerance on Poaching. 5. Pension, medical aids for Ground staffs employed to protect wildlife. 6. No breeding of animals for commercial needs. 7. Stringent laws under wildlife, PCA, IPC Acts.

Mr. Env. Minister Sir, this is to congratulate you and your Leadership for the enthusiastic steps towards environmental protection. But as a most serious concern, I would like to draw your attention towards eco-centric approach of BHARATVARSH. Before that let me share you the fact that the root cause of all the problems is materialistic and consumerist approach which is more-or-less energy demanding and based on use & throw concept generating more waste.
