Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Here is an idea to increase the number of tax payers. right now we have roughly about 8.5 crore tax payers across pan India which forms just 6%. Any reactive measures like linking Aadhar, PAN cards to account, online transactions etc. may not be effective to increase the tax payers in the country. Instead please introduce Swipe Tax cards : Every tax payer shall be given tax card & depending on their tax slabs, they should have subsidy in Purchase, Travel, Eatery, Small business, Bills etc. For example: I am paying tax around 4 Lakhs per year. If I get a swipe Tax of blue color (for the tax slabs between 3 L to 5 L), i should have 15 to 20% concession in above said. I can proudly showcase my Tax card in public saying I am respectable tax payer of India (by which others get motivated to pay) & also relief in my spending & gratitude towards government for redressing my major concern, which i will be looking for in each budget session.
