Providing instant noodles in mid day meals .instant noodles are considered the best inventions of 20th century by japanese and have all the vitamins and minerals that a child needs and it will reduce cost of operating kithen in villages but most importantly we would be able to provide hygenic food to all of our childeren in citis and villages as well as it has a long shelf life.the millions of tonns of grains which are rotten in feilds will go in the stomach of hungry childeren

There must be a seprate post for preparing mid day meal. It must be audited monthly. Quantity of food reaching children is not enough and has less proteins than required. Hygene is ok but can be improved. Teachers must be asked to take help from local panchayat and a governing body must be formed which must have parents representatives as majority.

I am from Kolkata, despite being a metropolitan city, we have gone well behind other 2-tier emerging cities such as Pune, etc. The population density here is very high, people from all over West Bengal come to work here on weekdays, the general public is so poor, I dont think they care about the quality of the food as long as they get some.. so although this forum seems a bit pointless to me, I feel first these schools need to be self sufficient, in someway, allowing advertising of big brands...

I had to come across many mid day meal kitchens of my kannur town. *one thing I observed is this mid day meal kitchen needs a proper planing. So there is a need of setting up of a commitee to acess the cleanliness & hygene of the mid day meal in each & every school . This commitee should be a must in every mid day meal serving school. This must be monitered by the school principal. So there is also a need of setting up a squad to acess this.

In haryana, there is a very complex structure of mid day meal....In this, there is a group 5-7 persons+principal which are doing this work...All are doing their best to spend as much less money in mid day meal so that rest money can be used for their personal things...i think this system should be abolished and the respnsibility should be given to some org. and particular standard should be given and there should not be any middlemen between govt and org so that money can be used in an efficient

i had observed the mid day meal kitchen(zill parishad high school) in my village nandavaram, nellore dist. AP. The food was good, tasty, hygienic and clean. the one and only drawback was the food served by the NGOs was limited, and that is not sufficient for students.i asked the contractors about that and they replied that the funds provided by the management of the school is not sufficient to serve.

I visited a government school in jawahar nagar, hyderabad. I came across 3 containers of food which was provided by NGO on a daily basis. The food was hygienic and containers were well cleansed. There was a schedule of various dishes to be provided each day on a black board outside the cabin of lecturers.I even attended the kitchen premises which provided a good ambience of utensils well maintained.Kitchens are used to provide breakfast and dinner.Only drawback being the cleanliness of stairs.
