World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on 20 March. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to looking after everyone old and young.

WOHD 2016 aims to get everyone to recognise the impact their oral health has on overall physical health and wellbeing to help inspire this change, the overall campaign theme is: Healthy mouth. Healthy body.

This year we at Centre for Dental Education & Research, AIIMS, New Delhi (National Centre of Excellence for Implementation of National Oral Health Programme) want to ensure that this poster/slogan contest inspires every citizen of India to promote oral health.

In order to create awareness about importance of oral hygiene, it is important to communicate that the easiest way to remain healthy is by maintaining oral hygiene. This would encourage a lot of people who want to maintain good health but do not make any efforts towards it for many reasons including lack of resources etc.
