To encourage more people to donate blood, it would be beneficial to introduce incentives for donors. One such incentive could be providing donors with the results of the comprehensive tests that their donated blood undergoes. These tests are a standard procedure to ensure the safety of the blood before it is used for transfusions. They include screenings for various infectious diseases and blood typing, among others.
By sharing these test results with donors, hospitals and laboratories can offer a dual benefit: contributing to the health of others while also giving donors valuable insights into their own health status. This would come at no additional cost to the medical facilities since the testing is already a mandatory part of the blood donation process. Despite donors often requesting this information, it is not commonly shared with them.
