Sir, 26th November is Constitution Day. In the Kesavanand Bharati case a 13-member Constitution Bench gave a historical judgement that the basic structure of the constitution can’t be changed by the parliament. It was delivered on 24th April, 1973. However, Mrs Gandhi changed it by the 42nd Amendment of the constitution in 1976 which is unconstitutional. The words, “ Secular “, “ Social “ and “ Integrity “ were included to the Preamble. It was done during Emergency when all the opposition leaders were in jail and tenure of the Lok Sabha was over. Moreover, the words Secular and Social have done maximum harm to India. Secular has become synonymous with Hindu bashing and Muslim appeasement. I request the government to undo the harm committed in 1976.
