Sir, Recently a 2-member SC bench struck down Tribunal Reform Act duly passed by the parliament. There was tons of evidence in the National Herald case. But the Rouse Avenue court didn’t take cognisance of it on a technical issue. ED has rightly appealing to the Delhi HC. But the 2-G case is pending there since 2018. These matters are of serious concern. Moreover, there is urgent need to replace the Collegium System with the NJAC which is the root of all evils in judiciary. I think the Hon’ble President can ask the SC under which article of the constitution, the Collegium System was established. And whether a 2-member SC bench is competent to strike down a central act. It is of course heartening to know that the SC is making some right moves under the Hon’ble chief justice, Suryakant. Let us hope he will continue to live upto our expectations till 9th February, 2027.
