This would mean foreign investors could invest up to 100% without prior government approval, subject only to post-investment reporting to the RBI. Amend the FDI Policy (Consolidated Circular) to explicitly include “aircraft manufacturing” under automatic route. Require a minimum 40–60% local sourcing of components to ensure domestic ecosystem growth. Similar to electronics manufacturing mandates.Start with civil aircraft manufacturing under automatic route, while keeping defense aircraft under government route.
