Respected Sir, I wish to bring the following unsavoury developments to your honour's kind knowledge. Chandigarh Railway Station, which has been earmarked to become the world class Railway Station, has become a big eyesore for the train commuters and those visiting it to drop/pick up their near and dear ones.The Railways authorities (incumbent DRM, Ambala) recently having imposed the parking charges is flawed with several hiccups. One just fails to comprehend the rationale behind DRM, Ambala introducing 'six-miniute free window' for dropping/picking up at this station, failing which one has to pay Rs 50/- (exiting beyond 6 minutes but within 15 minutes) and Rs 200 beyond that. Sir, What could be so sacrosanct about him toying with the idea of '6-minute free' window only? Why he can't think about getting real and realise the folly of continuing therewith, despite being fully aware of the ground realities. Sadly, letters to Railway Minister/ Chairman, Railways Board got no reply.
