Respected Sir,
During the pandemic, Railways started running trains in special category to control the crowd in trains and provide convenience to the passengers. The fare of special trains is more than the normal train. Railways has also given the status of Mail Express to about 70 percent of the passenger trains.
Since the coronavirus-triggered lockdown was eased, the railways is running only special trains. It started with long-distance trains and now, even short-distance passenger trains are being run as special trains. Passengers had to pay more fare to travel in these. Lots of Indian citizens are facing financial hardships in travelling due to the exorbitant fares, they avoid traveling by trains.
Last year, the Railways has issued an order to discontinue the ‘special’ tag for mail and express trains and revert to pre-pandemic ticket prices with immediate effect, also, Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on November 12, 2021 said the Centre will soon pass an order
