Sir, 1928 was a great year for Indian Science and Hockey. Sir C V Raman discovered Raman Ray on 28th February, 1928 for which he was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. And we celebrate 28th February as the Science Day. In 1928, India got the first gold medal in Olympic Hockey in Amsterdam. In fact our great Dhyan Chand has given India three Olympic gold medals, two as a player and one as captain. I am happy that India’s highest sports award is named after this legendary player. It is unfortunate that India has not hosted an Olympic game till now when some small countries have done it. Olympics are already allotted to various cities till 2032.
