Centre need to intervene for police modernization with respect to purchase of latest and useful technologies that helps police to do a professional crime scene investigation and handle evidence management. State Police are unable to spend the allotted budget and modernize police across India due to several reasons. There are many new technologies that can assist the investigation officers, experts, scientific officers at crime scene in identification of critical evidences, capture, digitize and store them in tamper proof mode as such they are admissible in court to bring a logical conclusion to the case by convicting the criminal or releasing the innocent within 3 months or 4 hearings. We have also proposed setting private forensics science lab within the CFSL's to get the DNA evidences and process the testing in lab and complete over 2 lakh pending cases with FSL's across India on a mission mode within 2 years but the policy decision is awaited for last 2 years
