Pondicherry Electricity Board issued one LED Bulb for each domestic connection and received 3 incandescent lamp in return from the consumers. This is a good way to create awareness for LED lights. Apparently Make India policy should be encourage more for these products to reduce the cost and then all these traditional lighting systems to be banned and should be out of production.

please change the picture first. It appears from picture that transition is from bulb to CFL. Govt can launch a campaign for adoption of LED. Three things are favouring LED. Low consumption, repairable design, AC/DC operation, beakage proof. Only one thing that is cost is against it. Govt can suitably shift duties from LED to CFL and other type of lamps easily. Electrical companies and Govt should think over highly efficient alternative of FAN/Cooler and ACs. LED lighting can save only 10% .
