Honble Prime Minister sir, leds should be produced in india only not to import from other countries. so it can benfit INDIA. The price of leds should be low when it satisfy below povery line people. Government should use this type of bulbs at all places where it can possible.leds are ecofriendly when compared to CFL and Normal wattage bulbs.we should create general awareness about led lights in people.

The main focus should be the cost effectiveness and mass awareness among people 1- The raw material used for led and the finished product all should be tax free 2- The latest capital technology needed for the efficient production should be made avialable at easy terms to local producers 3-Mass awareness programs can be run to motivate and educate people to use more & more LED's.

1. LED lights have to be mass produced as a campaign and cost could be reduced 2. Then we could plan for domestic use, street lights, public places lighting, public transport, bus stands, railway stations, airports, public buildings

LED Lights are cheaper to manufacture. If the lights are manufactured in India itself, it will surely reduce the cost. Once the cost is less, it won't require much time for people to switch to it.

I wouldn't know the excise and other tax structure on LED products but the usage can be promoted by making it cheap and make in India by reducing or rather make it tax free by leaving no other option for the consumers then to use LED. The money saved in power generation /consumption can be probably compensated towards the excise / taxes on the LED products. Once the consumption of LED increases the production costs would also go down and by that time consumers would be used to the LED products.

LED lights are costlier and are not affordable by the common man, so if Govt provide it on subsidised rates, it will helpful and we can promote using LED lights. Brightness of LED is much less than CFL and it provides eye problem.
