Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

My father in law who is 82 years old.and retired from Indian railways.should be allowed to send their pass application online to railway offices ,not standing in a queue.and should sent to them online. All lower berths of all classes in all trains must be kept reserved for senior citizens, patients and handicapped persons to travel safely without risking their life.

Dear Sir, There are couple of Mumbai-Pune Super fast trains which halt at very few stations & hence serve limited no of people.Population of Pune has increased manyfold in last 20 years & city has spread in all the directions.Thousands of IT professionals are working in Hinjewadi for whom nearest station is Pimpri. However they have to travel to Mumbai by road only. Hence I suggest that all the Mumbai-Pune trains should halt at Thane, Pimpri & Shivai Nagar so that thousands of people will be benefitted.

Railways must optimize the idle time (cleaning&waiting) of rakes of Passenger/Mails/express trains at destinations, before start of next journey. This will reduce turnaround time & improve rakes availability. For eg. Secunderabad-Nagpur SF Express can be be extended to Durg/Gondia. Develop the SC-NGP corridor thro' Adilabad / Karimnagar-Balharshah. This will reduce travel time from NGP to SC, Provide employment & development opportunities in the region, reduce congestion in the NGP-VJA route

Jai Hind Sir I would like to draw your kind attention regarding our Railway Department, today my mother was going to Bhatinda through train. There was power failure on station due to this tickets distribution was completely stoppd n all the passengers boarded without ticket. If there have been any stand by arrangement (inverter) lots of mony would have been save. The cost of a good inverter is not more then 10 to 15 thousands but we lost more then this Please do the needful Thanks Sanjay Ba

Hello modi sir, I have an idea related to Indian railways . I hope it is really useful for the passengers who are travelling in the train at time of accident or incident. By using this idea we recover the accident and also we recover the human error in trains.. If u give a chance to me to explain my idea. I waiting for your response thank you so much

Mr.Prabhu railway minister I am asking one thing have u traveled in any train as a ordinary passenger.Come to Bangalore & see Bangalore Hubli jan satabdi train.how r the seats in this train very beautiful. Why the dept is so careless no passenger can sit comfortably in these seats they r so congested. To sit in these seats for ladies is not at all possible they have made 4+4= 8 seats in a row to earn more money instead they would have done 3+3=6 then it was very nice & cleanliness is zero
