Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Nice idea for the toilet, but you will be surprised to know , as I was , that most people prefer to use the toilet only when it stops. this is because the train does not shake and its easier to do the thing. It would be advisabel to additionally install s system to stop the waste to fall out when the train is sstationary. Please think on these lines too.

NOW A DAYS THE RAIL ACCIDENTS ARE MUCH IN UNMANNED LEVEL CROSSING.BUT OUR MANPOWER IS MUCH MORE.I SUGGEST TO RAILWAY MINISTRY TO GIVE WORK SOME WORKLESS PRIMARY LITERATED YOUNG BOYS OF NEARBY VILLAGE(OR MAY BE TOWN)WHERE THE CROSSING IS PRESENT TO AWARE AND STOP THE PEOPLE & VEHICLES.TO IMPLIMENT THIS SOME EXTRA BUDGET IS ALSO NEEDED.I THINK TO IMPROVE THIS SITUATION EXTRA AMOUNT OF FARE IS NOT OPPOSED BY CITIZENS.

Near unmanned level crossing , A two way signal need to be installed. One signal for train driver and other signal for People who are crossing train line. Driver's signal turns Green from red when train reach close to level crossing, at the same time other signal become red from yellow with Siren to alert people. Now a days for train driver, Red/Green signal system is already used. So there is no new things to do, only some more new two way signal need to install at Unmanned crossing level.
