Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

If Our Railway runs on time 25% of development in this sector will be done automatically. Second there should be at lest two dustbin in each coach of railway (Swachh Bharat). I appreciate Premium trains but fair should be in limit not more then double.

It has been observed that due to different political shades states do not co-operate with the Railways ,with the result the projects do not get completed. The glaring examples are Bengluru-SravanBelgola, Daund-Lonand projects.Rly Development in states shd be transfered to states by creating RAJYA LOHAMARGA NIRMAN NIGAMS. sTATES SHD COMPLETE THE WORK UP TO FORMATION LEVEl INCLUDING SERVICE BLDGS STAFF Qrts. Rly shd lay tracks & signaling and operate trains.Due to ths States will be responsive

Railways should think of increasing the fare by at least 25% in sleeper and A/C classes, The money collected by doing so can be treated as a special fund and used for upgrading the compartments and toilets in the train. Currently the Volvo bus fare is almost 4 times higher than the sleeper class fare of the train. However the compartments are filthy and contain rats, cockroaches etc.

First thing we need to install gates at each crossing and we can automate the process because we always have running position of the trains. Also we need to put barricades near all the gates so that nobody tries to tailgate it by the way side

Indian railways is one of the greatest networks in the world. Indian railways serves crores of Indian passengers daily. But even today it lacks in safety. Electronic scanning of baggages must be made compulsory in all stations when people enter to board trains.

Cheaper Solution for unmanned gate can be provided. Provide a lifting barrier at all such gates, which will be opened by pressing of a button by road user for about 5 to 10 minutes, during which road user can pass. The gate will get close automatically. Ask solutions from Signalling department, they will provide but there is no Head of signalling in Railway, thus the problem. Create Head for Signalling department in Railway. Technology & modernisation can be brought by them only.

We are proud of the changes our country needs for a long time and we have all the belief in you in bringing the changes at a faster pace. The people of this country are waiting for your quick and early action in implementing the changes to become digital. The Railways are not taking care of the elderly pensioners and could not implement the Cashless facility to the elderly pensioners despite many representations sent through various Railway Pensioners Associations and Bharat Pension Samaj.
