Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Only (earning person/ head of family) of the country should be given opportunity to get registered on their names only one land for residential purpose/ Apartment in whole country. If this comes in effect the maximum person of rural area can afford of their choice of residence in urban area, and cost of the land will also not increase so much.

There is nothing much railways can do about it. The fact is the driving rules need to be created and implemented and courses like defensive driving must be made compulsory. I find this as an irony or its a matter of corruption almost 30-50 % driving license are given to people without a driving test. That is really unfortunate and that leads to a great chaos on our roads.

Railway should give his Unused land (certain Parts Only ) along the rail track for Flowers Plantations to the villagers near by on Profit Sharing Basis . This will enhance the Beauty across route through the Country, Increase the Revenue to Railway and also the employment & Money to the Villagers. I hope this may Help My INDIA

Actually Posting Railway Gate Man In All The Unmanned Level Crosses Are Not Possible. So I Think The Project 'Gate Mithra' (Posting People Outside Railway In The Unmanned Gates) Will Solve This Problem...

Half of the problem can be solved if the trains are in time.it will reduce the hygine problem, fooding problem etc.when we can reach mars in such a commendable way ,why cant we find scientific wat to fight against fog,due to which trains get late etremly(especially in east and north india). Humble request to be firm with train schedules before starting any new venture.

Everyone has fear of death. Unnecessarily no one wants to die by rail accident. 80% accidents on railway crossing happens due to damaged, haphazard, broken road with Iron Railway Track where the vehicles such as two wheeler, auto, car, bus etc gets stuck / trapped and many times due to small shock the engine stops and the accident occurs, during such circumstances it will be treated as – drunken driving. If the road on railway crossing will be smooth / upto the mark, almost 80% accidents saves

Dear PM Modi Ji, I request to use latest technology GPS, Automatic Control Gate, Warning Control System etc to prevent the such accidents. Technology use will not only be efficient but also effective measure to prevent accidents due to unmanned level crossings. Alarming system should give warning well in advance when train is approaching and Gate Control System should close the gate well before train arrives on both the side.

Sir, Over the decades, railways is the most neglected sector other than education and health specially in west bengal. we in bengal are lacking 25 years behind mumbai. Kolkata being the capilal of bengal does not have railway facility becuase the railways surrenders inself in Howrah station and after that no where........ so, the railway should now cross the hooghly river and reach kolkata. I am there to give all the logistic support, if needed for this. see, doing work is a matter of will.
