Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

I read a news long time ago that Indian railway has the scrap material worth Rs 25000 crore. why not railways sell these scrap and earned money. also railway has lots of free space which can be used for commercial purpose. Railway can give these land on lease and can earn lots of money which can be use for developing the railway technology and infrastructure.

6. As we are planning fr smart city, we should also plan for smart railway station per railway Zone. - Railways station should be not only clean but should be beautiful. Like airports. Railway station should be decorate so that people can enjoy while they are waiting. - All hitch technology should be there (digital machines, distributed rush, moving surface over over bridge, so that passengers should carry bags easily)

4. Add shatabdi type train for long distance (12 hrs duration). It will reduce the rush and passengers have choice either SL facility or shatabdi type facility. 5. Railway should make a video, which educate people how to behave during travel, how they can participate in clean railway, how they can help. Compare the railway station of foreign county to India and highlights where we are lacking.

2. Restrict for larger amount of goods during travel. Fix kg/per person luggage.(It could be a experiment, so in few superfast train we can implement and experiment). 3. Double decor train should introduce instead of adding the new one train. I am not aware of technical challenges of double decor train.
