The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Well, for develop of our mining sector,we should have to teach our worker right skills not in class room, but in the work field. Practical learning is the best learning process for any individual. This gives us real work experience. And along with practical skill,we also have to develop their safety skill. Mining is a very risky work. Any time any big accident can happen. So by giving them a proper safety training we can reduce the risk factor in work place. Jai Hind

Can we adopt this at all new jobs? We have to also start awareness progr. for this from 5th std by commu & slide show. V.M.

Sir, I want to draw your attention towards the tragic conditions of roads. The bad condition of roads directly affects the economy of our country. It multiplies the fuel consumption, hence the foreign currency. Particularly I want to draw your attentions on the Ambala to Kaithal (Haryana) road, in very tragic condition, it is national highway but in vary vary bad condition. Roads are not built of good quality because of corruption. PWD is hub of corruption. Tight them for quality construction.

If I were to identify reasons as to why my country has so far failed to realise its potential, abnormal returns in the real estate sector through asset appreciation driven by unscrupulous practices (supported by a bad framework of law & law enforcement which is disconnected from reality of a real estate transaction) like controlled release of inventory (amounting to hoarding) will be amongst the top 5. Immediate attention is needed here. The sector is also a conduit & platform for many nexuses.

In continuation with the last post, on a systemic level we need to get the Real Estate Regulator up and about asap; also we need laws that reckon the fact that in our country when someone purchases a flat or an office, his entire life gets leveraged - past savings & future earnings. Hence it is imperative that cheating in these transactions is "seriously and quickly" dealt with. Also, abnormal returns from unscrupulous practices in the sector attracts capital to it & dries up entrepreneurship.
