The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Mining sector will usually involve bpl and illiterate people so field knowledge will provide them better skills and other than this they will not be able to get into institutions provided for this because then they will be occupied by educated people In this way they don't have to furnish any fees and the company will also be interested to have increased working people but adequate regulations are necessary from government

Sir, In our country many parents don't have money to send their teenage children to school and sustain themselves at the same time. They want teenage children to go to work, so that all the people in the household can eat.Now if we can start apprenticeship(for which certificates should be given), the children would be developing skills and at the same time earning for their family. And when they become yound enough with their apprenticeship certificates, they can get better paying jobs elsewhere.

I am from Melbourne and so technically an NRI, although not by heart. My Request to you is to tell all Australian-NRIS and others to start thinking that they might have some needs and requirements but they should GIVE MORE as they are in far better position than many underprivileged fellow Indians. They should start giving back more not just get satisfied by one -two instances. TO BUILD A GOLDEN INDIA AGAIN , EVERY INDIAN, ANYWHERE IN WORLD, WILL HAVE TO SWEAT AND SERVE

Promoting Sports If big business houses like Reliance, Tata, Birla and public sector joined the forces by having network of sports facility reaching right to the villages and provide food, shelter and training to selected kids and enroll them as employees. We then have national Olympics where their teams and athletes meet and a national team emerges as the best pick from every team. Each such athlete becomes the ambassador of their own original house saving millions in marketing expenditure.
