The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Through class room environment skilks in the mining sector will be of a mere 30% only. The main skill development will be from a severe training to the youngsters. This mining should be involved as a permanent stream in all the colleges inclusive of the remaining streams also

Respected Sir, Distribution of LPG cylinder is very irregular in Manipur since last many years. It has not been improved even after your assuming as Prime Minister of India. Most of us ( more than 95%) consumers get max 4 cylinders per year. It would be a great relief to the people of Manipur if it is regulated properly.

During Diwali vacation this year, our trust “swa’-Roopwardhinee organized a residential camp on the subject ‘swachhata’. Various aspects of ‘swachhata’ were put before the students which included importance of segregating wet and dry garbage, clean water, clean body, clean mind etc. I would like to send the details of the camp as well as the reactions of the students after the camp. The response is very encouraging. Shirish Patwardhan Joint Chairman 'Swa'-Roopwardhinee

Within a short term and quick turnover for economic growth in mining sector the Central govt would need to certify some reputed central government funded universities to provide Diploma course to individuals interested in this field and a guranteed job. The government would also need to provide growth opportunities by way confidence building measures to stick to job such as providing mandatory hours of class room trainings on the job. To grow up in level certain certification at subsidied prices

In Kendriya Vidyalayas, there used to be dedicated periods allotted for Co Curricular Activities. Such type of periods at the scale of four per week should be made compulsory part of CBSE syllabus where instead of theory, some practical skill like Dye Making, book binding, mini printing press, circuit designing etc can be taught. This can be done at 11th and 12th class level. Same concept should be implemented at larger scale at college level ...

From (Post-1 National Disaster Management) This is my firm belief by doing this each and every children will get trained and skilled for Natural Calamities and for other National Disaster, resulting we will lose less human lives and infrastructure. That will create job oriented skills in students too. This kind of subjects will also help in our daily life during road and rail accidents, stampedes, First Aid. Resulting every Indian will not be dependent on Govt bodies. pathakvipin23@gmail.com
