The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

It's time that we should give contracts to private firms in defence sector for manufacturing of weapons. Ask private firms of all over the world to manufacture their defense products in india. Tell indian firms to set up tie-ups with foreign companies.

Steel industry traditionally uses wooden logs to support their flat products like sheet/plates/coils, during transportation. This is 'One Time Use' of wooden logs. We are loosing our forests mainly due to use of wood in for such applications. I have successfully developed a Green substitute named 'coir atlas' made of Bamboo n Jute. It creates employment for women n specially able people. Despite of highly successful trials, Indian Railways is not granting permission for its regular use. Pl help

sir, we are & will be leaving with poverty, we like it or not. wrt child labour I have different views, abolition is welcome step. The child is working not as enjoyment but to feed his family needs, stooping him from working means inviting him for unwarranted things to do. My suggestions is to certain extent let us take efforts to regularize & make more stringent norms for their employment like working Hours,(only 4),PF, ESI, minimum wages, Life Insurance, education.May help
