Advances in technology have given people more ways to access an increasing amount of information. Local and international news can be read in the newspaper, listened to on radio, watched on television and found on cell-phones or online. For those with access to these options, a wealth of information is always readily available. In countries where free expression is suppressed, access to technology is expensive or illiteracy rates are high, radio continues to play an important role in information

Private operators should be service motive. Most of the operators are interested to open FM stations in big cities. Licence is to be given to the FM operators on the basis that they should open FM radio stations in small towns/District capital towns also. If FM licence requires at major cities, they should provide service in 2 or 3 small towns also. This will help to provide FM radio service to the remote location and small towns also.
