Railways should consider speeding up the trains in all popular routes. Chennai - Bangalore & Chennai - Coimbatore route has been identified by railways for faster trains. Speed in existing trains can be increased initially and can be done on a pilot basis.

More 2nd sleeper coaches should be added to Trains which have high WL during all weekends from major stations. For eg: From Chennai to Coimbatore & vice versa, Chennai to Bangalore & vice versa. This will help reduce dependency on pvt bus who charge exorbitant rates. Addition of coaches from Friday to Sunday should be considered. Will help travelling public. Also, higher fares can be collected for those booking in the additional coaches.

Pictoral warnings must be placed at common places where trespassing occurs. Also at some stations we can have trains running on ground and all other facilities on 1st floor above trains like in Metro stations. Station entrance must directly lead to 1st floor and passengers have to climb down using stairs or ramps or lifts to catch their trains. This will reduce accidents at stations atleast.

Mumbai Suburban Trains need more First Class coaches and there needs to be a TC on every station to catch the ticketless culprits. I have seen TTE's leaving people by taking cash and not issuing receipts which is obiviously corruption but no action is taken. CCTV's should be installed on all stations covering all areas to catch hold of the culprits. CCTV;s should also be installed in the offices of the station staff and monitored to ensure they work and not sleep dueing duty hours and during time of inconvinence to the passengers.

People of India need to change their attitude first to bring a change. Its easy to say there are no facilities but when facilities are provided they don't have the civic sense to use it properly. Government also on the other has the responsiblity of maintaining the facilities which are usually ill maintained. Dear PM you should have stared Clean Corrupt Government employees program before starting the Clean India programme. You clean the corrupt and I am sure India will be clean.

Why not use the railway stations as a producer or Electricity by fitting the Solar panels on the roof tops of the railway stations. In the regions like Marathwada of Maharashtra and parts of Telangana have excess heat in the months from march till May. Why not tap this resources and use them effectively.

In my recent travel through Pashchim express, from Mumbai to Ludhiana, I found that the Rs. charged by train pantry is more than their menu card rates. the coffee was listed 7 Rs and they were charging 20 Rs. Even same for the breakfast, it was 49 and none of them were honest enough to give 1 Rs back. I dont understand when we will have transparency in such case? and If I want to complain whom to complain? IRCTC Complain portal has all unattended complains. Could not we have good governance?

Access to stations is the most important and critical problem. Statins should be accessible by people of all ages and the artery roads serving the stations should be good. Infact, if stations are the lifeline most of the city or town planning should be based around the stations. Private partnership should be actively sought to improve the quality of stations - for example if we have XYZ IT company within 2-3 kms radius of a station, improvement of station should be a default CSR target for them

There should be siting arrangement for those persons who have waiting ticket. And there should not be permission to enter inside the Reservation bogie with the general ticket.
