Solar panels on Delhi Metro Rail Tracks. I would like to propose reuse of available track infrastructure and cover-up the rail track overheads (which include power pillar and transmission line supports) with solar panels. Thus generating extra electricity which can be redirected for metro use. It will also reduce heating up of metro coaches from direct sunlight resulting in lesser use of AC in metro. Excess electricity can be used for lighting up road lights beneath the metro tracks.

Install light sensors on street lights, they will be switched on and off according to the need, we can save a lot in terms of energy and manpower resources.

Start office early, e.g. 8AM-5 PM (8h/day) and use day light saving concept; install touch free sensor based lighting systems in toilet, conference hall, class room etc.; make necessary architectural changes that will allow maximum penetration of sun-light in the work place to reduce dependency on electricity.
