We should have a policy to reduce the electricity consumption by creating a consumption rating based on the sq.ft of facility. That mean say a office of 1000 sq.ft should not use power not more than a fixed power. That will automatically force finding alternative methods to save power and apply it. May be all government building can lead in this mater first and create awareness and then followed in private sector. The energy consumption can be easily traced in the electricity bills.

My view is we shall try to use the Solar energy products and for the same government shall give subsidies on solar products for Home use like radio/TV which works on solar power.Also we shall get the Nickel Cadmium rechargeable batteries at comparatively low cost so this solar energy can be stored and used as backup.We also shall have specialized UPSs designed for that.This means the approach everyone is looking towards the solar energy is needed to be changed.

It is tough for government to keep vast land under solar power generation. So if people we given a small solar panel set enough to light up house hold bulbs every one can utilize solar panels and generate electricity at house hold level. Every house is a power generating station. Each house can generate more electricity in summer.

Grow jetropha plants from which we can get bio-diesel in drought prone areas. Also jack fruit trees can be grown in drought prone areas. In srilanka and vietnam we have jack fruit industries. Jack fruit trees are pest and drought resistant. In vidarbha in maharashtra farmers should be give awareness to farm these plants and trees so as to give better returns.

The MNRE and the various State nodal organisations are the biggest frauds thrust on the nation. .Low cost funds from international organisations,including grants meant for maximising Alternate and New Energy generation systems are doled out to pliable suppliers who readily pay huge margins to officials and then supply sub-standard goods.
