Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

विद्यार्थियों में सर्वप्रथम शिष्टता एवं सदाचारिता ही कूट-कूट कर भरनी चाहिये । विद्यार्थियों के नैतिक और चारित्रिक विकास से सम्बन्धित विषय-वस्तुयें भी होनी चाहिये । विद्यार्थियों का समुचित विकास किस प्रकार हो, यह पूरी जिम्मेदारी गुरुजन बन्धुओं पर ही होना चाहिये । सुधारात्मक अनुशासन विद्यार्थियों पर बराबर रहना चाहिये । इसके साथ ही किसी भी पारिवारिक व्यक्ति को गुरुजन बन्धुओं के अनुशासन में दखल नहीं देना चाहिये । अपने पुत्र-पुत्रियों को गुरुजन बन्धुओं के निर्देशन में ही सदा रखना चाहिये ।

गुणवत् ता के लिए अभिशासन में सुधार Governance reforms for quality in Higher Education अध्ययन-अध्यापन और ज्ञान पर ही समाज का पूरा भविष्य आधारित है। अध्ययन-अध्यापन और ‘ज्ञान’ समाज सुधार और जीवोद्धार तथा सुखी-सम्पन्न समाज हेतु सर्वप्रथम सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण एवं सभी के लिए ही एक अनिवार्यतः आवश्यक विधान है । विद्यार्थी ही भावी समाज का कर्णधार होता है।"गुरुजन बन्धुओं को चाहिए कि सबसे पहले विद्यार्थियों को शिष्टाचार का व्यावहारिक पहलू मजबूत करें ! ‘सत्यं बद्; धर्मं चर !

Children in primary i.e. age 5 to 9 are carrying school bags weighing 5/6 kgs every day...this has to STOP...else when these kids grow up they will be complaining about back problems....I have raised this issue with schools but this is not a school problem...they can not address this issue completely....this has to be addressed while designing books for these kids.....new education policy makers should consider this as a serious issue...please take a note of this!!!

प्राथमिक शिक्षा में बच्चाें के उपर से बश्ता का बाेझ विल्कुल कम कर देनी चाहिए अाैर उन्हें याेग से जाेडना चाहिए

Many rural kids would have their parents and relatives with no knowledge of English.Forcing an english medium education can put them at a significant disadvantage. Therefore, mother tongue should be the medium of instruction at primary level.
