Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

@Saikat Routh Why should we stress learning in mother tongue only? It may be difficult for you to learn some thing other than mother tongue, but not for children. Scientifically they are better at learning languages then elders. Look I am not against the mother tongue. But English is also important for them as higher education is in English

@Saikat Routh Why govt. school cannot follow the same curricular that of private schools? If all people are wanting their child to send their children to private schools, obviously their curricular is better than the govt. school.

Govt.-run Primary or Elementary Schools are now lacking students.Private Schools(English Medium) even in rural areas has spread their roots. As a result, education has become a business. There exists distinctive learning outcome for the students of the same age in a particular area.Private Schools should follow the same curricular goal or curriculum as Govt. Schools follow.Learning through mother tongue should be stressed to develop skills and values and English should treat as equivalent to M.T.

http://sumyakdrishti.weebly.com/

Primary Education is the back bone of any society and country as a whole. There is a saying "What we reap as what we cultivate". Today our focus should be more on the primary education.Behavioural and practical education must be made compulsory at primary level like how to behave with elderly people, how to follow traffic rules, how to behave with female and of course what are our duty.Pleae ensure at least one period is mandatory on these subjects

The state government must follow a policy of quality education instead of playing politics in educational sector. They must support private schools,if they are keeping quality in imparting education.Quality and aim of education must not be betrayed for political gains.

teacher education must create a team of nationalistic creators who ensure a national generation. The new education policy must ensure that the Majority community is never treated inferior to the minority community in any form.

More importance and considerations should be given for the primary schools, especially in the rural areas without any previlage to any kind of management.[either the school may be run by the minority or others]

In India students are facing these problems because of lack of skilled teachers. some states are hiring those people who have completed their matriculation and made them joined as a full time teacher without having any experience in that field. If you see the state like Bihar where you will find teachers who does not have basic knowledge about the subject and he/she is teaching that subject. Many government schools are like this without proper skilled teachers.

Problems in current School education system in India ----------------------------------------------------- 1. No quality education in most of the Government schools. 2. Normal people not able to afford private education. (example: 20K to 100k for 1st class) Solution -------- Each government official (MEO, MDO, RDO, DEO, SP, RDO, etc..) should adopt one Government School to improve Quality of the Education. please see more details @ https://www.facebook.com/schooleducationchallenge
