Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

In government sector, posts of headmaster and teachers are lying vacant.Without headmaster, no school can work effectively. e.g In delhi under M.C.D in primary schools, 30% posts of headmasters posts are lying vacant. What a critical condition specially in Delhi.Reemployed teachers are teaching.Again shamefully policy.Remove such type of anti youth and anti economic policies.Must do in new education policy. Reduce the age of retirement. Inject new blood in system.Stop reemployment and extension

1-make provisions for restricting arbitrary orders made by head teachers on the name of administration and management of school. 2-Hard working teachers should be awarded each session 3-Policy should be of such nature that fee by pvt.schools be under control 4-There should be such type of education system that there should be no burden of home work on the students. 5-use of new technologies should be encouraged like-digital black boards, vedio films, periods in primary classes, desks etc.

for rural schools i believe a proper connectivity and linking every private/govt urban school to a rural school, i mean like mentorship programme, and encouraging the students to pair with a rural counterpart and then making them write an essay about the difficulties other faces afollowing which we can ask the students as to what are they willing to do to alleviate those difficulties of his/her friend. this process could be done once a fortnight. i guess it will bridge the rural urban gap.

lets get above the usual textbook based learning and start utilizing the library based learning where the students are taught a topic each class instead of a textbook chapter and then an hour be given to browse the school library to enrich further on the topic. this could be introduced twice a week in few schools to see the result it furnishes and if positive applied all over

My queastion to srandraize fee structurte for all school. Secondly increase of fee should be controlled by Govt. as schools are incresing any fee without any limit. Pls do something in thi area. Beacuse we want to eductae our children but facing so many probelms ralated to fee. Govt is also focusing on those people who don`t have value of education.

Dear Sudhanva Gundepally, Even I have two or three books on vedic maths. I wonder, why we are not taught vedic maths in schools. Making kids blind PATRIOTS won't help any way. They should have a good teacher who would explain them the importance ancient culture (in a scientific way) and how we will get benefit from it. If we stop rote learning, and learn something knowing its importance every thing will come in place. http://qr.ae/dvbtX
