Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

Please study great personalities like Late Shri Dr.Rajiv Dixit on Education system. And also of Rajiv Malhotra. The way we are losing our culture and ancient education system (e.g. Vedic maths) is alarming. Gurukul system must be brought back. USA, Germany is exploring on Sanskrit which is very easy to learn; The whole Algebra is taught in just 10-20 shlokas. Please bring back our lost history, teach right history to kids - MAKES THEM PATRIOTS. It is not Newton but Bhaskaracharya of 400A.D.

Crowded schools. Have you seen how they eat at lunch time? OR are we simply pushing them to schools because of compulsion? Learning also includes manners, etiquettes, social norms et al. Who is to look at all these? Let us hurry up-Dr.PV.Jois

When I asked a child in a small school as to why he was there he said because he was poor. Another said it was boring but he would get food etc. YET all of them had ambitions-wants to be a doctor, lawyer, pilot, scientist or teacher. I told them unless he completes elementary training he cannot achieve anything. Lot of children might have ADHD, LD etc. but have we ever enquired the outcome of forcing into schools compulsorily. Are there professionals to look after them?-Dr.PV.Jois

The elementary education shall be only in mother tongue , as in every country in the world. Formal education can be after 6+ years only. This is the phenomenon all over the world. Learning process shall be mainly based on practical experience and not just theory.

भारत में शिक्षा व्यवस्था पूर्णतः सरकारी नियंत्रण में न होने से साधारण जन के लिये सपना सी बनती जा रही है। शिक्षा के बाज़ारीकरण के दौर में अच्छी सही और उचित शिक्षा दुर्लभ होती जा रही है। जैसे अध्यापक शिक्षा के क्षेत्र मेँ आते हैं वे शिक्षा मेँ योगदान के लिए नहीँ जाने जाते। उत्कृष्ट विद्यार्थी प्रशासनिक पद पर नियुक्ति के लिए लालायित रहते हैं शिक्षण में आने वाले विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक बनने के लायक नहीँ होते; पर किसी अन्य क्षेत्र में रोजगार न मिलने के कारण 'वीर शिक्षक' बन जाते हैं। पढने और पढ़ाने में रूचि

I think it should be compulsory for all the govt. Employees to educate their children in govt. schools only, it will not only benefit the education system but also improve 'SAMANTA KA ADHIKAAR' all the school staff will be more responsible, specially people from backward areas will be encourage to get education . There will be no misuse of govt. property; ever body will get same education. And lot more ultimately our country will rise faster.

Education in India focuses on academics and marks and not building and developing the overall knowledge and strengths of the child. Due to this education system has led to a rat race where everyone is running and not learning. In my views, There should be Entrepreneurial development and elementary education should focus on Skill development especially in subjects like computers, maths and science as well as treat each and every student getting 75% above in the same category.

Lets decide first what we really want "Education System" or "Examination System". Education system will create a society which will thrive with learned people. On the other side Examination System will create an army of HUMAN ROBOT, ready to march on command or capable of doing repeatable assignments. Current Examination system is not producing research oriented talent rather its creating a pool of order takers.

1. In my view education system i.e of schools should be first nationalized just like banks. 2. It will eliminate many hurdles and gap between private & government schools. 3. Request all top level gov employee like d.m commissioner etc and politician's at least one child should go to gov school for career education this will eliminate many basic problem of gov school hope PMO understands those.

primary education should be in local regional language. learning other languages can be in secondary education. sanskrit language should be made compullsory from primary education to protect our heritage and culture. moral instruction classes shall be introduced weekly once and the involvement of students shall be increased. value based education, oriental based education should be introduced from secondary education. subject specialisation should start from 8th standard only.
