Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

I think the current education system teaches only academics. I feel it is necessary to incorporate teaching ETHICS/ MORALS etc. to students right from their young age. As our PM Shri Narendra Modi mentioned after his Japan visit, students in Japan themselves clean their school every day. This is an example. I think if ethics like this were incorporated in our education system, India would soon definitely become much cleaner, wealthier, safer. Because today's children are tomorrow's citizens.

Moreover taechers of govt. schools are paid much more than the teachers in private schools, if it is possible on their part to teach in English then why not the teachers of govt. cant teach in English. lastly I would like to request you to please increase the word limit...

English should be the medium of teaching in govt. schools. Students passing matriculation from state board find difficulty in understanding the terms in English. I think by implementing it there would be no difficulty for parents,who are financially weak to send their children to eng. medium schools run by the govt. . And those parents who don't show any interest for the education of their children will also send their children to school.

Learning outcome is not up to the standard, as in most of the villages either there are no proper school or running without proper facilities. No classrooms, teaching aids, toilets/wash basins, mid-day meal, and above all qualifies subject teachers. To ensure learning outcomes, Hon'ble Modiji and Smritiji, as first step, please provide all villages with at least Secondary schools and within one KM at least one Higher Secondary school with basic facilities and infrastructures.

Elementary education must become a strong foundation for the kid .There must be transparency from the beginning of his education.The child must be introduced to the transparency in every field. This habit will bring a lot of change in the child while he is growing because he is used to be clear in what and how much he/she is learning.

Learning must be fun, our education system makes the elementary education hard for the kids and half standard teachers are also reason for this. Making the learning easy will encourage more kids to attend the school. Conduct more games and fun activity to the way we teach the kids instead of blackboard approach. The parents in the rural and remote location will not have education and it is entirely the responsibility of the teachers to provide proper education to these kids in elementary schools

Quality elementary education is key to eradicate illiteracy rate in our country. Poor standard of teaching in elementary level may force the kids to give up education, as the kids may not have basic knowledge to understand the subjects in higher class and quit the school. Our education system must ensure quality teachers, video tutorials are extended to these kids. Volunteers should be encouraged and assisted,the volunteers can spend their time with these kids to make learning a fun activity.

TRAIN THE TRAINER program for elementary school teachers,especially in urban and remote locations, to increase the quality of the education provided to the kids.These teachers provides basic knowledge and lay the foundation.Kids tutored by half standard teachers will face difficulties when they move to higher class and may give up education due to fear & anxiety and become illiterate.To eradicate illiteracy,government should conduct a program to train the teachers and evaluate them at the end.

Our present education is a failure. Or else, how can "educated" govt. employees, police ask for bribe for doing their duties? It's time to reform education so that it created dutiful citizens, not corrupt officials.

Media must highlight the benefits of education to uneducated parents. They must realize that primary education is as necessary as food and water. Without education nonce can live dignity and freedom of choice. Since infancy let it be repeated to a child's ear: Jo padhega, o agey badhega. Only social workers should be appointed as teacher, not the greedy persons who is more interested in private tuition.
