Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

अमेरिका सबसे धनी देश है, वहां के स्कूल साल के शुरुआत में बच्चों को किताबें इशू करते हैं और साल के अंत में उनसे जमा करा लेते है ताकि दुसरे बच्चों को उन किताबों को पढने का मौका मिले. भारत गरीब देश है, पर यहाँ हर साल पुराने किताबों को रददी के भाव बेच दिया जाता है और नए किताबों को ख़रीदा जाता है, या यूँ कहें की अभिभावकों को नई किताब खरीदने को विवश किया जाता है..करोड़ो रुपयों की बर्बादी लाखों पेड़ की कटाई ..फिर पर्यावरण को बचाने की सतरंगी मुहीम फिर करोड़ों रूपये की लुट,. ये हमारे शिक्षा के मंदिर...

sir my suggestion for basic education in my view the elementary education will be given to children by using PPP based schools govt may give subsidies same like LPG to poor children and the will get the education in famous private schools.because SSA is not fulfilling its target to educate well poor children it is just giving huge salaries to teachers nothing to poor children even such schools number of students is also forged for just operating the school.

The elementary level education should have a uniform course structure throughout the country and as such that it integrates our unity and develops integrity among future generations.

nation should have uniform age/date of birth for admission in nursery/KG. Elementary education should include civic conduct classes that will ultimately lead to clean and honest India

During early grades there shouldn't be any exam. The kids should be encouraged to learn and not to develop fear for exam. Not everyone is wired to be an engineer or doctor. provide learning opportunities for all sorts of students. If a student is weak in one subject, say geometry, don't kill such students life. He/She may be excellent in Languages. Identify what is needed for an average person and make only that much compulsory. For example - basic math must be compulsory.

Focus should be on gaining knowledge rather than simply moving on to one grade from another. Right from the first schooling experience, focus should be develop a love for learning also examinations should not be purely pen-paper.

I am a strong supporter of learning on their own mother tongue. This will help the children to understand better and learn it easily. The Government should focus more on bringing out books in indian languages. English or Hindi should be thought as only as a language. the other subject (maths, science, history, social science, etc) should in their mother tongue. No English in Japan, China, Korea, Germany, France. Arent they develped. Why should we still be a slave for english.Free our Nation

Primary objective of elementary education is defeated the moment learning outcomes are not assessed & students are promoted. NCERT aptly gives 'learning outcomes' for every chapter in their books but no fail instructions have tied the hands of the teachers which over eight years deteriorates the performance of most students & the consequence is dependence on private tuition. It is imminent that learning outcomes be achieved to promote students & teachers be trained to assess 'Learning Outcomes'.

Elementary Education is the base of a country’s education system so without proper elementary education a country can not rise. Village Education Committee (VEC) consists of local political leaders are using schools for their political meeting purposes,during school hours. Even political leaders are using school development funds for their own purposes.
