Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

There are 3 main learning outcome in elementary education read, write and communicate. I would prioritize reading ability followed by developing ability to communicate and then writing. From education perspective, there should be education zones irrespective of states to make sure all kids in these zones get same education and gets evaluated on same scale.

The program of "EACH ONE, REACH ONE, TEACH ONE" can be initiated to promote or increase literacy at elementary level especially in rural indian schools wherein the teacher or trainee can be given an year of training to reach a rural school through a scheme designed purposely for the same wherein volunteer teachers may group up and and through a mode of transport to a nearby rural area devote in imparting education to young children not necessarily teaching them alphabets initially .

Literacy rates in elementary education can be increased if rural citizens of India residing in hilly terrains, plateaus and plains and other backward areas are convinced through talks, dialogues and discussions to send their girl child to school along with her brothers to receive formal education without any restriction or binding of household work or duty to take care of a younger sibling to school as a part of household work.

Comprehensive Education – Ethics, Physical Education, Arts & Crafts, Life Skills physical education - should be taught by military men n women.This way they will have enough resources for future recruitment. Ethics and spiritual lessons by AOL, ISKCON, Ram DEv baba ( for yoga).life skills should be taught by famous/ successful people from across sports, education, politics, pvt and public companies.Our own Gurukul system of education should be adopted with miner twist to suit modern system.

Ensuring Learning Outcomes in Elementary Education, teachers should not teach, they should guide only. No home work please. whatever is to be taught should be taught via toys, not books and no video please. School should behave as a play area where kids come and play( while they learn). Today teachers even in nursery and KG are having syllabus,exams and evaluation, so they dont have free time to spend. they are forcing one thing to all kids in a class.Our vedic system has answer to all prbms

Himachal in a dilemma: Ministers thinking dey went on filling seats of teachers through backdoors as done by CM of HP. He filled all posts of teachers like this and arguing by stating that no body wants to go in tribal areas. but peoples like us feel cheated as we have all terms and conditions like TET/CTET etc but no jobs for us. Evrybdy making a mess of education system in HP and no body raises any kind of voice, reason unknown. I wud only want to say dat stop doing fraud with inocent people

There should be some survey or study by students/professors of higher studies once a year on specific issues on the progress of their learning.

There should be a monitoring system that the school authority can assess that all children are given equal opportunity to learn and participate. A log book or planned activity chart of each child should be prepared for each quarter and its observations.

As the children are now a days tech-savvy, the assistance of digital gadgets in learning process of the child should be encouraged and it should not be considered as a limitation factor.
