Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

We doesn't expect Learning Outcomes till the students teacher ratio is not balanced , as per current scenario there is 1 teacher on 80 students

"EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD ARE UNIQUE" Dear Friends, we have to classify the students from school to various streams under their abilities and natural skill. there we have to take the student interest only. for that we have to break the schooling system first and need to start a new system. 1, Teachers need to train to find out the student abilities from lower levels 2. shift them to the interested sector and give special care with general subjects. 3. open new careers

Having spent 41 years in school environment--- 19 as a student + 12 as a teacher + 10 as an administrator ,the deficiencies in the education policies are quite visible. In the last 60 odd years , we have ended up producing more victims of education system than its beneficiaries.For example, for a child whose peak intelligence was music or sports, the system made him/ her concentrate on rote learning maths, science, sst etc. all through his/ her formative and very important years.

To ensure learning outcomes, the teachers must be trained well in identifying the learning outcomes of each lesson that they will take in class. After teaching the lesson, they must evaluate the children and compare the objectives planned and objectives fulfilled. In fact if there is proper integration of all the subjects , the learning objectives will be common to all the teachers teaching a particular child and hence attaining those learning objectives will be faster with sustainable learning

I am a school principal and would like to suggest - Conceptual and activity based study are required but please keep in mind the differences of urban and rural students. Skill oriented which must include language skills, scientific skills, creativity and application of learned aspects. Firstly there is an urgent need to upgrade the curriculum of B.Ed. and all teaching professional courses. Otherwise strong content would again become weak due to lack of skilled teachers. Thanks

To teach,learn concepts in engineering education, Indian government has established NPTEL, through Indian Institute of Technology. Kindly promote the similar one for Primary and Secondary education of our Country. Apart from teaching if the proposed website concentrates on testing the concept then that could be perfect model.

Learning English and computer education should be compulsory for children in their primary level.This will definitely helpful for them in the future.Teach our values and traditions .Small practical training should be given.Physical education periods should be compulsory.Yoga classes should be introduced.

The primary education requires lot of attention from all corners of society including government, educators, teachers and parents. The need of the hour is to strengthen the system and help stdentss to achieve the basic outcomes. We are failed to achieve this. The reasons are many. We should try to look at these factors and find amicable solutions. The solutions should be such that they can be easily impleneted in all the elementary schools. The solutions should be practical.
